Sprinter Worker: Most Cost-Effective Vehicle in Mercedes Lineup

There was a time when consumers of Mercedes have no choice in vans other than Sprinter 2500 and Metris Van. Now that time is gone as Mercedes has increased its lineup by unveiling Sprinter Worker. This new model starts at $32,495. Another exciting concept of Mercedes is also launched and it is Sprinter Extreme Concept.

Sprinter Worker is built with simplicity in mind and is only available in white. Gone are different roof heights and wheelbases. Only short wheelbase of 144-inches is available in this model. It is powered by 2.1-liter diesel four-cylinder engine that generates 161 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. 4×4 is also not available in this model.

Worker’s unit is mated to seven-speed automatic transmission that spins rear wheels. This new model cannot be ordered with four-wheel drive system that’s optional on Sprinter 3500 and 2500 models.

Sprinter Worker still has the same payload and towing capacities as base Sprinter 2500. It is 3,512 pounds and 5000 pounds respectively. It even has higher base cargo volume coming in at 319.1 cubic feet compared to Sprinter 2500’s 246.7 cubic feet.

Sprinter Worker is available in only three packages and offer variety of convenience. It includes cruise control, heated mirrors, a wood cargo floor, blind-spot monitoring, rear doors with windows and back up camera. If you choose all these three versions then you are still spending just $500 more than base Sprinter 2500.
