  1. Turn off Car

Before starting work, turn of your vehicle. It is important because headlights should not have any power connection while they are being removed. So for safety measures, keep the car and headlights switched off.

  1. Open Hood

Open vehicle’s hood with the help of hood latch. Look for thin covering of plastic on the opening of headlights. If you are unable to locate it, take help from owner’s manual and act accordingly.  You can purchase brand new hood components from our online auto parts superstore.

  1. Gain Access to Lights Housing

After finding plastic covering, take it off the housing of headlights and put it on side. Make sure the side area is not rusty or wet.

  1. Remove Bulbs

Now when housing unit is totally uncovered, locate bulbs and remove them along with wiring. Do the same for headlights and take out all wiring that is connected to it. If bulbs are damaged, replace them with new ones.

  1. Unscrew Bolts

After removing wiring of headlights, take out bolts too that hold them tight. As bolts are needed later on, keep them in a place where you do not lose them.

  1. Take out Old Headlights

Once the bolts are taken out, you will have free access to headlights. Now you can take old headlights out and put new ones in. The removal of bolts and wiring will give you clear access of headlights. Once they are out, place new ones in their position and screw bolts from previous assembly.

  1. Reconnect Wires

Reattach all wires and put back bubs in headlight housing. After this, place back cover and clean all mess that has been created during the changing process.
