Vinegar is very helpful to remove rust from your car. It is an inexpensive acetic acid and can be found easily in your local market. Chemicals present in vinegar eats away all the molecular bonds that are the reason of rust on your car’s surface.

Fill a spray bottle with some white vinegar and apply it on the affected area. Let the solution settle on that rust layer for 2-3 hours and then rub wire brush on the affected area until all the rust is removed from that area. Once you are done with it, rinse that area with clean warm water and leave it for drying under sun.

Vinegar can also be used straight out of bottle or you can dilute the vinegar solution with water. It not only removes rust but also the debris that is left behind by stickers placed on your car’s windows. Vinegar can also be used to clean chrome.

  1. Effects of Salt and Lemon Juice on Rusted Area

One of the most effective rust removers is the mixture of salt and lemon juice. Squeeze out 2-3 lemons into a small container and add salt in it. Now apply this mixture on the affected area. Leave it for fifteen to twenty minutes and then scrub it off with a soft rag or cloth.

Baking soda that keeps the inside of refrigerator free from bad smell can also be used to get rid of car rust. There is a very high citric acid in baking soda and this acid is usually used to remove rust from metals. It not only removes rust from metals but also chrome.

Mix one tablespoon of soda and water to make paste. Apply the mixture to rusted area and then scrub it off after some time. If the mixture gets too dry, apply it more so that there will be no scratches on car’s surface. Usage of baking soda is the best natural way to remove rust from car’s surface.

Using a potato is another effective way to get rid of rust. It contains acid called oxalic acid that helps dissolve rust. Cut a potato in half and spread some salt on it. Now scrub it firmly on affected area until the rust is completely removed.

  1. Use of Coco Cola to Remove Rust

Coco Cola is one of most popular sodas in the market and it has the power to clean rusted areas. It has an acid in it, which is very effective for removing rust from any part of the vehicle.

Apply some cola on affected area and rub it with a crumpled piece of aluminum foil. Keep doing this until all the rusted area is cleaned. Once all the rust is removed, wash the area with warm soapy water to remove sticky residue and then dry the surface with clean cloth.
